Technical Areas of Focus and Background
I am working (as a post-doc) on two projects; 1) the microstructure-fracture correlation for line pipe grade steels for high-pressure H2 gas transmission, and 2) rapid tempering to restore ductility in the heat-affected zone of line pipe steel weld for natural gas/H2 gas transmission.
Previously I worked as a Principal Researcher in the Product Development Research Group, R&D Division, Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur (India) from Jan 2014 to Apr 2024. I have research experience in Hydrogen embrittlement of high-strength steels, phase transformation, physical metallurgy, thermomechanical controlled processing, steel grade design, etc. Before that, I worked in the QA function of a steel cold rolling mill complex for five years.
