Thesis Title: Controlling Austenite Stability in Advanced High Strength Steels
Degree plan: Doctorate of Philosophy
Completion: January 2023
Group: Sheet
Steel Center Student Since: January 2019
Bio: Melissa joined the steel center in January of 2019, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2018. She has interned with NIST Boulder in the Thermodynamics Reseach Center and ATI Specialty Alloys and Components in the research and development group prior to joining the center. Her work aims to understand the effect of the morphology of retained austenite on its transformation behavior from austenite to martensite during deformation.
